MY DEAR LUNDY:
You and many others of my students at Emory of the years 1876-1884 have often asked me to put into permanent form the thoughts concerning "The Man of Galilee" - "Jesus of Nazareth" - I brought before you when we were together at the old college in Oxford. In this little book I have had the boys in mind all the way through, as if they were before me in my lecture-room in "Seney Hall." Many times the very faces of the boys seemed to be about me as I have written, and I could almost hear them ask me questions as they used to do.
Scattered about the world now-not a few of them in distant mission fields-my heart follows them every one, and these pages, which would never have appeared but for them, bear them the assurance of an interest in them that can never die.Your friend,
ATTICUS G. HAYGOOD

New Preface
About thirty-five years ago, while a student in college, one of my professors let me read his copy of The Man of Galilee, by A. G. Haygood. I was so impressed with the simple argument made by the author, as he took the Gospel story of Jesus and showed the evidence of His deity, that I sought until I found a copy for myself and copies for the libraries of the schools in which I have taught.
The reader will find the book interesting, factual, and logically arranged, as the author builds his case for the supernatural Christ. He presents Jesus as His own evidence to His deity.
I have long wished that someone would bring out a reprint of this excellent work; and I take pleasure in commending Mr. Jenkins for satisfying this desire. I heartily recommend the book to all who are in search of a simple presentation of Jesus Himself as evidence to His deity.

It is with pleasure and satisfaction that we present the reprint of The Man of Galilee. Nearly since the beginning of the publication of Evidence Quarterly we have had this in mind. We have had an admiration for the books since being introduced to it by Homer Hailey in one of his classes on the Evidences of Christianity.
In establishing the deity of Jesus there is no fact more outstanding and no stone more solid than Jesus Himself as presented by the Gospel records. Mr. Haygood caught something of the power and beauty of the original argument and recorded it for us in The Man of Galilee.
While we do not agree with every illustration and conclusion of the author we thought it best not to cumber his work with our notes; as a while the work is excellent. It is our prayer in reprinting it that readers may be drawn to a closer study of the Gospelas and to a great appreciation of Him who is Truth.
