Ferrell Jenkins - Professional Life
Ferrell Jenkins taught Bible at Florida College, Temple Terrace, Florida, from 1969 to 1984. In 1991 he returned to the college as chairman of Biblical Studies. Florida College was accredited by the Southern Association in the 1950s as a liberal arts college offering the Associate in Arts degree. The college offered advanced Bible courses for upper division students throughout the years. Plans were made in 1991 to accredit the upper division program. The college now offers an accredited Bachelor of Arts degree in Biblical Studies.

To some degree every teacher in a small college must be a generalist and teach a variety of courses. The major courses taught by Jenkins include: The Scheme of Redemption (now called Epistles: Ephesians and Colossians); Introduction to Christian Evidences; Epistles: 1 Corinthians; Gospel and Epistles of John; The Book of Revelation; The Kingdom of God (sometimes called Prophetic Speculations); Work of the Preacher (2 Cor., 1 Tim., 2 Tim., Titus). The number of students taught is probably around 4000.

Jenkins taught a reduced load during the 2000-2001 year. His long-planned retirement from Florida College began at the end of the spring semester May 3, 2001. Since that time he returned to teach the Book of Revelation when Phil Roberts, his friend and colleague, was unable to teach.

Ferrell Jenkins has been an active member of the Society of Biblical Literature, the American Schools of Oriental Research, the Evangelical Theological Society, and the Near East Archaeological Society. He is listed in Who's Who in Religion (editions 1-4), Who's Who in Biblical Studies and Archaeology, Outstanding Educators of America (1975), Contemporary Authors, Who's Who Among America's Teachers (1996), Who's Who in the World (17th ed. 2000).

Jenkins edited 10 volumes of the Florida College annual lectures. Most volumes of the annual lectures are available in print, and in Logos format.

Web Page Philosophy
This page was published online May 14, 1996. My original intention was to assist my fellow ministers and other Christians in their Bible study by providing access to a variety of scholarly sources. My professional associations and the publications I read gave me access to some sources not readily available to others at that time. I can remember when I was excited about having 25 hits in a day.

The purpose of this page remains much the same. I had intended to include original material of my own but time constraints with teaching, preaching and touring made it impossible to do so. When I was able to secure my own domain at BibleWorld.com I determined to make it primarily a site for my own materials. Again, time has limited what I have been able to do but I hope to do more with it in the months to come, Lord willing.

It should be obvious that we do not agree with everything found on these pages. We believe that each person must read, reflect, accept or reject according to the Word of God.

The complete re-design and revision of the Biblical Studies Info Page was made possible by extensive professional help from Jessica Harber Rice. The page has been prepared in Dreamweaver 4.

My site is now hosted by CloudIntexch.com.

Answering Questions
The maintenance of this page is a one man operation treated more or less as a hobby. It is not possible to even begin to answer all of the questions and requests for help that are received. I can say that you are more likely to receive an answer to requests that are stated concisely and limited to one item.

Blog
On the Blog page was designed to include miscellaneous news and notes of interest to the webmaster. It has now been replaced by Ferrell's Travel Blog.

Selected Quotes I Like
On this page I will include some Selected Quotes which are especially meaningful to me or ones that I think will be helpful to those who use this web page. Most of these will be from sources now in public domain.
